D300 Image review annoyance

Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of the annoying file info of the image review on the D300.
Every time you review an image, 2 lines of info come up and I can't seem to find a way to disable this. :x
Is this how it was on the D200, because it wasn't like that on my D2Xs, when reviewing your image it was the image only nothing else .

Cheers
Marc

Use the arrow pad next to the lcd - i think up 'n down toggles different modes....thats how it works on D200....

If it is anything like the D200 you use the control button on the right to cycle through the options you want displayed.

ie. Normal, clipped highlights, Histogram, info1, info2 etc...

I just can't remember if you toggle left/right or up/down :)

Mike

I'm not talking about the Exif data, it's 2 lines at the bottom of EVERY image when you review an image. Eg file #, date, time, size, etc.
It's nitpicking, I know but nontheless annoying
Going thru the control button won't remove it.
Is this how it is on the D200??

Nope. The D200 only has the EXIF data displayed as well as the other screens I mentioned.

Try up/down on the multiselctor.

I like the display with the thumbnail plus histogram, plus all of the shooting data.

The histogram is the really useful part of that; the image itself is only a guide for exposure, and you need to zoom anyway to assess focus

Marc,

I haven't seen how to get rid of it either. Lucky the LCD is bigger now. Was the reasoning behind the increase in size just so they could add this info? ;P

On the D200, you can get the folder number and file as you can see here, on dpreview:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD200/page8.asp

playback mode from the D300 are here:

http://www.dpreview.com/previews/nikond300/page8.asp

so you are right, you do have those two lines at the bottom.

HTH,
