Finally got my D3

Managed to get a hold of my new D3 on Wednesday night.

The manual is in Japanese and my supplier has the english version on order.

My electrician was over to do a job this afternoon and hadn't eaten all day so my wife made him something to eat about 5pm.

He was sitting at the dining table about 12ft. from a window facing south west which had sheer curtains fully drawn.

Snapped this shot with the D3 and new 24-70 lens.

3,200 ISO .jpg out of camera except for a small crop.

Not looking for comments or critique on the portrait/composition as such but interested in your general observations about this out of camera impromptu snap from the D3

My general observation is 'holy shit'. By rights I really shouldn't be surprised by any high-ISO-low-noise results out of a D3 anymore, but it just keeps happening. I'm guessing you're pretty happy hey. :)

Hey, I can see you and your new camera in the reflection of his glasses.

Bob G - congratulations.

But who reads a manual, take shots and experiment

Look forward to seeing some shots with the Nikkor 300mm f/2.8VR.

A beautiful, sharp image, and 3200 iso. Well, not really beautiful. Bob, I think I see a big grin in that reflection in his glasses.

Absolutely impressive. It is a marvel. I think if the D3 doesn't get Camera of the Century you'd have to call the competition rigged :) Enjoy it Bob you have a lot of very jealous forum members here. Looking forward to more images :)
cheers
