Tamron announces new lenses

Some interesting lenses announced by Tamron, one an ultrawide 10-24 (only 370 grams and takes a 77mm filter) and also they have now added an internal motor to their 17-50 2.8 Nikon mount which gets good reviews by Thom Hogan or Photozone. Could be an alternative to the Nikkor 17-55 and much lighter at 440grams (versus 765).

The 200 2.8 macro will be a winner if it is anywhere as good as the 90mm 2.8.

I agree John, didn't even know they were making a 200mm 2.8, but it would also present itself as a handy cheap alternative to the Nikon 200mm f2 at probably something like 20% of the price, if it was anything like the 90mm macro.

Seeto - spot on, they said they were trying to cater to the new bodies, just hope the motor is as fast as AFS

I think the drreview announced the 200, but Slider has mentioned that it is not a true macro.

First quick review on the new Tamron 17-50, seems the focus is slow, otherwise good.
