D200 Quirk

Am asking this on behalf of a friend who has had a D200 for around six months and quite often when they turn it on, the camera won't pick up the settings and has a f*triangle*0 reading and pictures come out blank and to correct, restarting, removing the battery etc etc does not seem to have an effect but then suddenly the camera will start working like it should. She said it did not matter what mode the camera was started in.

Any ideas or should she be going back to where she bought it from??

Thanks - Linda

Linda,

What lens(es) do they have?

This does sound like a fault though; I've never herd of this situation before.

Take the lens off, clean the contacts, put it back on.
I have seen this myself recently on a 2nd hand lens we have (different lens to yours), soon to send the lens to Camera Clinic for full service.
