D80 File No Sequence not working

Hi

I have my File No Sequence setting ON but the numbering of the images resets to each time I format the memery card.

Am I missing something? Is there another setting I need?

I just want the photos to keep going up in sequence each time I format.

So if its number 80 and I format I want the next image taken to be 81

Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Have you tried turning it off, take few shots and turn it back on?

Its a strange problem, maybe try resetting the menu options or camera?

Check your manual, or the in-menu help. I may be wrong, but I think you'll find having it ON means it resets with each insertion.

Other than that, if the card you put in already has pics on it, the camera will pick up from the next number - overriding any previous numbering.
