He's added some things to the way the guide is produced as well it seems. I have only heard good things about his eBooks though I have never owned one. Given that the D300 is my first Nikon this seems like it could be a good investment!

I too have heard good things about Thom's work, so I'm seriously considering one of these as well. I'm sure I could learn it all from the manual, but it sounds like the format of Thom's stuff is eminently readable and therefore, hopefully, more digestible.

I acquired a copy of the D50 manual for myself from illegal sources. I was so impressed with it I ordered it off his website, was very nice.

I am waiting for him to rewrite his Flash and Field Guide.

Why would you do that? It's readily available for download from Nikon?

Yeah i have the D200 one, and it's really excellent. It's perfect for someone starting out with a camera if you can sit there for so long to read it. It's huge!
