heh, for those interested in studying schizoid paranoia maybe

Discussions like that are best left on the forums that cater for them best. Personally, I have Canon for a couple of reasons, but I'm very happy to see Nikon pushing the limits past what Canon has delivered. It can only mean better gear for us all down the track.

god im sick of this nikon canon iso debate, get out there an shoot, yes nikon has finally caught up and producing high iso usable/great images, i would like to see examples though (from the link), at the end of the day its still the photographer no matter what.

It wasn't meant to cause debate, the original post was meant to show that FINALLY nikon had got off it's arse anf fixed the problem.

And it was a problem, with little to do with the photographer. When you couldn't use ISO 800 or above on a professional body for fear of serious noise, it was a rediculous scenario. Thats why (and aggressive marketing) so many professiona photographers made the switch to Canon.

What photohiker says is right, Nikon taking the lead in high ISO just now means canon will lift it's game, and so on, meaning we all win in the end.

I'm sick of some canon users getting defensive. I posted this on my DA blog several days ago...

What a bunch of whiny wallys (in the linked thread)

Anyone who worries about competing equipment beating theirs is wasting their time. What are their solutions? Swap systems and in 6 months time lament that their original brand is now better than their new one then swap back. Depends if you have money to burn I guess. At the end of the day, as many have said, you live within the limitations you have.

If they can afford to chase the best system, then keep the Canon gear they have, and just buy another kit of Nikon D3 + pro glass......

Otherwise live and work with what you have

I recall Wendell's post of working in the US and the shooter he was assisting didn't use the best gear, but used skill, talent and luck to get great shots.

Best gear, best paper performance, etc is (in some ways) more of an epenis contest with some people than anything else......

Not sure if it's been posted, but this:

is a rebuttal to Ken Rockwell's writings:

http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/notcamera.htm

One says your camera matters, the other says it doesn't!
