If you have a camera, a manual should have come with it.

Was that not the case?

Then you may have a problem.

I would just go with the PDF version; there is nothing to be gained by having the printed one.

Were I you, I would also take a moment and and add a meaningful location to your profile. That is a requirement of membership here, and details of what "meaningful" is are given on the front page of the forum. Your cooperation in attending to this would be greatly appreciated.

hm...thought i already did that :P maybe it was on another forum.

i'd rather have the manual in my hands rather than on the computer. more convenience but thats just me though. ill give nikon a call then, see how good their customer service is.

thanks.

If you want, I can fly to Perth and read it to you line by line. As long as it's not simplified Chinese, which is in use in mainland China. :P

But you can download it from Nikon's website as a pdf file, I'm pretty sure of it.

Regarding your profile ...

Maybe it was.

But "Perth" is not a meaningful location. Again, please read the message on our front page.

And please read the FAQ.

Thank you for your cooperation.

A very useful service, and a very helpful response; thanx.

Now, of course, once your replacement manual arrives, you can leave it in the seat pocket of a Virgin Blue plane and see what happens there. :)

They'll mistaken it for the manual for emergency evacuation.

Why not download the manual from here: http://nikonasia-en.custhelp.com/cgi-bi ... faqid=5805

This will give you a printable version of the PDF and you can print yourself a copy. It even lets you print multiple pages on one physical page.

Note that you will have to register and enter the serial number of your D60. In your registration, I think you will need to enter the location from where the camera was purchased for the serial number to work.

Hi Lex, and welcome.

Please, never, ever, ever, ask anyone on this site to breach somebody else's copyright.

Never, ever!

I have edited your post to remove your email address.

And why in the world should anybody email you this file, when it's available, just for the downloading, directly from Nikon. If you would take just five seconds to read this thread, you will see that the link has been provided for you.

What more could you ask for?

And please, before you do anything else, take a few more moments to read out FAQ, and to read the message on our front page about having a meaningful location in your profile. Thank you for your cooperation.

I assume you can download the manual and print it out in A5 booklet format? Then book bind the whole thing?

cmon Nikon are not creating great works of literature - they are in the business of selling cameras. Why do they even restrict the download of the manual to people who have a camera serial number?

Anyway to akosialex you can freely download the Nikon manuals from http://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com
No stupid registration, no serial numbers and perfectly legal.

What does it matter why they do it? They own the intellectual property in the manual, it is their right to do with that as they please.

With all due respect, we have rules here, and we are site that is dedicated to photography. That, by its very nature, dictates that we have and hold a respect to the IP of not only those members who choose to post their images here, but also to any others who post .... whatever ... on the internet.

You might not consider it to be a work of literature, but it is, and always will be, the IP of Nikon. There is nothing further that needs to be considered. Nothing!

That you may choose to not respect the IP of others is not my concern. That we ensure a consistent and safe environment for our members is entirely our concern, it is entirely appropriate, and it is absolutely essential. That I, as the owner of this site, do what I need to do in order to not be sued by the owners of the IP for its illegal dissemination might not be a concern of your's, but it is one of mine.

That you might not like that concerns me not one bit. Not at all.

Please do not come back here with your disrespectful, thieving attitude. It is not welcome.

And if you had bothered to even take the time to read the whole thread, you would have noticed that the link that you provided had already been given within this thread. Along with another method by which a copy of the printed manual may be obtained directly from Nikon.

 LOL!

It is great to hear that Nikon are Green, yet still provide full manuals, there are a number of manufacturers who are 'green' and use that as an excuse to NOT provide a full users manual, maybe to save on costs. We have an Olympus E-510 in store that has two French Manuals and are waiting for Olympus to send in a replacement English one, but they appear to be one of those 'green' companies that don't print full manuals for their compacts (putting them on a CD instead, cant see that as being all that much greener as the plastic in a CD does not break down quickly).

I guess if I ever, personally, need a copy of a manual then I am going to print one, esp if it took over 7wks to get that manual from Nikon, I would agree that they should have a few spares lying around.
