I feel like starting a rumour...

Postby Mr Darcy on Sat Apr 12, 2008 8:01 pm

I was in the Nikon Asia Pacific Website the other day, and couldn't see the 85mm f1.4 in the product list. I finally tracked it down in the archives (i.e. obsolete lenses) section.

Do they know something we don't :?: :?: :?:

the price of the 85/1.4 is steep but its also pretty consistent with what you'd expect to find of a fast 85mm prime. keep in mind the canon 85/1.2 is around the $1700USD mark. if nikon do update this lens soon which i suspect they will within the next 12 months along with some other ancient primes, then i reckon its gonna be even more expensive. still, an 85mm/1.4 af-s VR would be one hell of a lens. i'd be in on that for sure.

the 85/1.4 is also one of the few "legendary" lens' around. so i wouldnt expect prices to plummet.
