Hi I would really appreciate some help please...

I have been offered an older (from what I can gather) nikon 80-200 F2.8 lense. I have not seen this as it belongs to a friend of mine that does not live in a days driving distance from me. He said it has Nikon Ed , Af nikkor, 80-200 F2.8 on the lens and is not sure how old it is.
I have a D50 and am looking to purchase a D300 (once I've saved enough pennies) later in the year.
Would this lens fit my D50 and the D300 And what would be a fair price for me to offer for it... if it is suitable?

Oh an its said to be in great condition no moss no scratches ect.

Thanks

I fit it is the AF Zoom Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED then it will work fine on both the Nikon D50 and the D300.

It will work on the d50. The ED model was first produced in 1997 and is still available today....

If it happens to be the AFS ED [discontiued 2004 when the 70-200 AFS VR was released] grab it quick....

Great combo on the D300...

i payed $750 for mine s/h. i think theyre about $1500 new
