Looking very tempting, wonder how much it will be over the D200...
Will it have a vertical grip addon as well?
Being that it is basically a D200 body with Fuji name - the answer is yes. Chris

It's a camera i will be keeping a close eye one.

Heard that initial RRP in the US will be US$1999 with kit lens and US$1899 body only. No news about vertical grip, but most likely.
That's 100 difference for the kit lens????? Must be a crappy kit lens. I think this camera will make a good landscape camera. The more i think about it, the more i like the idea of buying one. I look forward to reading the DP forum review of it. Steve.

killa, the S5 Pro is appealing to me for the same reasons... A nice complementary body to the D2h indeed.
Steve and Daniel,
I would be interested to hear your reasons for selecting this as a nice landscape camera. thanks, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. Ansel Adams

Andre,
1. 12 Megapixels. (Better than the 4.2 on my D2H) 2. Better saturation (like fuji FILM. Provia or Velvia, which i like to shoot with on my F5) 3. Better tonality. With the new sensor it offers better and more film-like tone characteristics. 4. Basically, a new generation CCD. Nikon F-mount is also a good point, so i can use all my sexy wide angle lenses, both of them. Edit: speeling mistakes Steve.

thanks Steve for putting it in plain English. The previous Fuji Sx cameras seemed to be more geared for portrait type photography from what I had read but the S5 does look promising.

Fuji did a few things better than Nikon. They had better White Balance making JPEG colour more accurate. They had better and more realistic saturation. Their display of skin-tones were more accurate. That's why some wedding photographers like them.
As a 'documentary' photographer, i will appreciate the better saturation and more accurate white balance. In a nutshell, WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get.) So put that in a D200 shell, and you have a winning combination. I am putting some money aside so when they are available, i can get one. It will nicely compliment my D2H and F5. Steve.

So long as it doesn't use XD cards.
