Looking for border effect technique

I have seen a photo border technique on non-digital prints that looks like it has been painted in slightly irregular freehand brushstrokes around the edge - mainly a B&W technique I think. It might be a form of sloppy border but I understood that to be more an emulation of the film carrier in the enlarger.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this - it may well be part of a software program but I'm hoping it's possible with a PhotoShop technique.

Now that I want an example of it, I can't find one anywhere - maybe it's become too cliché. If I find one I'll post a link.

onone photoframe its quite expensive, maybe other people would have better suggestions

....... photoshop and Illustrator will do what you require

....... in photoshop look under actions as there are a lot of pre set frames, they may have to be loaded

I have been looking for a border like this for a couple of years. The best I could find was on one photoframe pro, as tonykieuphotography says. They have just released version 4. It has some pretty good frames.

I would suggest doing a google search on "free photo frames" or free digital borders", or using similar wording, and you will be surprised at how many free borders there are around. You just copy one onto a new layer and chage the blending mode, and - VOILA!!! done.

...... just followed the video instructions above and 2-3 minutes later .......


..... being a little more selective to where the brush strokes go will improve the above
