Pro Show Gold - Quick QuestionI have created and written the image file for a DVD compilation in ProShow Gold...
The files generated are well over 4GB and sits in the compilation folder. They are in .DAT and .VOB formats. I'm trying to get a way to write these down into a DVD, but Nero burner doesnt seem to recognise these VOB files. How should I write these image files into the DVD again?
I believe that you can only successfully burn from ProShow Gold.
I've also had trouble when getting over the 4GB mark with a lot of failures. I think there are considerable hidden files which takes the total over what you are actually thinking the total file size is... Where is my evidence? I don't have any just 6 or 7 no can do jobs after waiting hours for completion... All I know, is that I don't know enough.....
VOB files are part of a DVD, if you want to burn them in Nero you need to select DVD-Video as the compilation type and put all the files (IFO/DAT etc) in the Video folder (highlighted red in nero 6 and above).

"The files generated are well over 4GB"
How much over? Given that a DVD is just under 5GB, do you have too large a folder to fit on a DVD? Unless you use dual layer 9GB DVD's.
I have successfully burned the DVD on my first run, but then the image files are left over, so I just want to see if I can burn from the image files. It took me 1:30hr to render the DVD, dont want to wait that long again since the DVD is not with me anymore.
It has roughly 420pics and runs over an hour with music at high quality settings.
1.5hr render aint bad (if its a 1hr dvd that is).
rendering is always the slowest step of the process - but as suggested, let it work whilst you sleep. keep the inside of the computer well ventilated aswell.. -julz
Does that mean I cant write the images created by Proshow back into DVD??
Why would they have an option called 'write image only' ?? If there is no way to write back into the DVD even from the program itself. There is no such 'burn image' in proshow gold..
