I believe I may know the provenance of this item:

It was all a great idea until he got it home and showed the Missus.

I am not able to say more than that but I was asked if I'd be interested a few days ago.

Offer a swap with a D70 with cash adjustment :D

More suited to amateur user...one wonders why they bought the D2x in the first place.

Poor sod having to sell it, on the other hand I've got no sympathy for him for telling his missus. My wife wouldn't have a clue how many cameras, lens or other goodies I've got and that's the way I keep it.

No, he's a bachelor with a GF.

He sold it cos:
- His GF wants a diamond ring equal to the price of D2x.
or:
- Instead of saving money to buy a diamond ring and pay for honeymoon, he spent on the new toys, now it's the time he confessed.
or:
- He saw the risk of having the D2x and his GF will part him with another man.
or:
- He suffered too much loss cos he can see the path of his seriously lust in the near future.
or:
- He think the D2x is dead on his hand cos he doesn't know where to switch is on and his is an amateur.
or:
- He was sure the D2x comes with a lens as the Canon 350D or a D50, but he found out he could not take a picture without the lens when he opened the box.
and more and more to come..........................

Finally he's just joined the VI

Why would you worry about getting shot? as I mentioned many times, one or 7 bullets won't make think changed or difference

Hear Here Gary!

That is very tempting for a D2X. Hmmm....wonder if he'd take $5k.

Well home again after a busy 6 hours this morning at work, 7 loads delivered well i think my truck was the money earner today. Well i been married before did it once wont do it again. lisa keeps asking i keep saying no well my motto is while her mother is alive she will never be my mother inlaw.period. LOL

Well have my coffee get cleaned up and off to the pony club for some pics and see if i can make a few bucks for the D2x fund.
If i lived where this camera was and could go and see it i think to hell with the bullets. Only live once oh and die once.

BBJ, won't you wait for the D200? It might be half the price and that other $3k could go to say a 300MM F2.8 AFS-II? :)
