Information From Sigma Lens Users

Postby Jeff on Thu Sep 15, 2005 9:29 pm

Hi
I have just acquired a Sigma70-200 f2.8 lens and so I have found it to be very good.
Just one question ,what teleconverter is best 1.4 or2 and what effect on the quality of the image.
The difference is the reach and a higher f stop, but is the trade off worth the disadvantages

Jeff,
Cordy has the 2x converter and it's great with all his photos of the VP days which he took on last VP day in Canberra.

The 2X Sigma TC is probably better than the Kenko Pro 300 2X but the Sigma 1.4X TC is just superior and keep one almost permanently attached to my 70-200. Get both!

Here is a shot with your lens and theSigma APO EX 2.0 teleconverter.

I use the 2x on the 70-200 and find it to be excellent if used under the right aperture/speed combination :D
