Anyone have a 70-210 F4 (constant)

Postby TonyH on Mon Sep 26, 2005 11:25 am

Does anyone else have a 70-210 f4 Constant lens. I've had mine for quite a few years and have been very happy with the results using film.

However, I'm less than satisfied with the results using the D70. Images appear soft, hunting for focus and having to use a minimum aperture of f8 to a achieve a halfway decent result. Poor colour saturation is also a problem (can be fixed in PS though).

This is a quality lens, which isn't performing digitally. Looking for opinion from other users (if there are any out there).
All I know, is that I don't know enough.....

As I have one same as few members on this board have it also, not heard any complaints about it on the D70 as yet!
Mine is in the "museum" right now, hardly pull it out to the real life anymore coz I have many other options.

Edit: and mine is brand new, bought over ten years ago and used no more than 6 times.

Hi Birdy,

Bought Mine new also. In around '96 from memory. At the time it was a substantial purchase.

I really want to start using this lens until I can make my mind up about and upgrade replacement.
