Curious about this...

Probably the wrong time to post this, because birddog is otherwise preoccupied, but I was just wondering why this is so.
I noticed that camera house in George St. had the Nikon 70-300g for the online price of $219, the shop price is $249 but if I was to buy it online and elect to pick it up myself from the shop, the price is still $219, so what is the difference to just walking in off the street, to ordering online and then walking in?
Not that I'm going to do this, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

I ordered that item last week, but they have no stock and are not certain if they will recieve more in time before the new year.
I cancelled and went through B&H in the states, item has now been shipped.
As to your question I have no idea, possibly it's easier for them to have orders go through the net where the majority of the staff work and have less staff on the counters in store.
