Just read this article.

from February 1 2005 the duty free allowance will be increased to $900 worth of goods and $450 for people under 18.

I thought that those were the allowances already in place - and have been since about November last year.

Beats me Gary, PIMA is usually about 1 month behind with their news but I've never known them to be 12 months behind.

And the Oz customs site says the current limit is $400 etc ...

I know that I saw stories probably ove ra year ago - about the increased limits though. Go figure.
