Sliding System for Frames

Hi all,
Wasn't sure where to post this so I guess General Discussion is best option.
Bel and I are so very very close to being home (well, unit) owners and I was wondering if any of the many members of this fantastic forum knows where or what the system of hanging framed photos from a sliding rail type system that goes around the top edge of a ceiling (on the wall) in a room is? I am not sure how to source this (or how exy it would be?!?) but was hoping that someone may know just how much (or the name of this system) may be!? If anyone has a cheaper (i.e bunnings like) alternative we would be only too pleased to hear about it. Many galleries etc have it and if we need to we will go and ask them, however I fear it's not cheap but it sure beats drilling holes into the walls and allows the user to swap/change frames as easily as 1, 2, 3!

I look forward to hearing from anyone or everyone that may know what I'm talking about!?!

Ahh...I just realised that Die Hard is on the telly here in Sydney

Its jsut a matter of fitting the picture rail all the way around the room.

I sort of like a decrotive rail, attaches straight onto the wall. Ask at any hardware/timber/bunnings type store they will point you in the right direction.

Something any home hand man can do.

Then the back of your pictures have a speciel(inexpensive) hook that sits in the rail. I think it looks great and heaps better than drilling holes.

It's not overly expensive either Birdy, to do the lounge/dining room woudn't cost more than a few hundred $$...well worth it I think. I will also be checking Bunnnings today for anything at all similar to this system .

I'm not saying nothing can be done or achieve and of course, it takes time!

Just a matter of what you're thinking and achieving down the track, to live in a unit, you may happy or not happy once you settled in due to other factors as neighbours, Body Corporate etc... and tenants in that building will be changed from time to time.

You could be living in that unit long enough if you're happy with it and it worths with your creatively passion otherwise you won't see your efforts of doing those things are worthy, or you'll find it out later once a new neighbour or tenant move in with their VI. Time will tell.

Another option, I do this at my place, is just to mount prints on form boards (very light) and velcro it on to the wall.

When we moved into our house last year I installed The Gallery System in some rooms and the stairway. I bought the components from a local art/framing supply business.
We use the clear tape droppers, but the same rails can use the stainless steel cable drops.

We love it!

Dave that is the system which I use, with the clear plastic droppers. The huge advantage of the system is that you can change displays so easily. I have twelve pictures hung in this manner.
