Mark,
I had the pleasure of visiting the Getty Museum during my recent trip to ths US, and was simply blown away by the "Pictures for the Press" exhibit that was on at the time. Some of the most powerful images from the 20th century, under the umbrella of the one exhibition. g.

the documentary style images are most powerful
so many things so litle time I remember the day getty images just used to be a simple image resource for advertising agencies and press to purchase images now it seems like they get their hands on the very best pictures.
Not just now, Wendell.
The first images that I saw in this exhibit were two by Robert Capa. Of the Normandy landing in WW2. He shot two rolls, and somebody in London screwed up the processing to the point where there were just 11 images salvaged. These were two of those eleven, and they were ... impressive. g.

Chris,
for a link like that one, http://www.tinyurl.com is your friend. And yes, those are the images, but that was just the start of what was in that exhibit. There were some other Capas, a couple by Larry Burrows (who was known, personally, to Birddog) one of Lee Harvey Oswald being shot by Jack Runy, another of Robert kennedy lying, dead, on the floor of the hotel kitchen where he was assassinated, others of Malcom X and Martin Luther King Jnr .... the atomic bomb that the US dropped on Nagasaki... complete with editorial crop marks As an aside, of those images in Chris's link, in looking at the stip of images, the third down was one of the images in the exhibition, but either the image depicted in the strip, or the original print that's in the Getty, has been rendered backwards. g.
