I found this great tutorial on the Curves tool in Photoshop.

There are others out there but this is the best I have found....it really enhanced every aspect of my image editing.

WOW- thanks so much for the link - I always use curves, but pretty much made it up (played until I liked what I saw, but didn't really know or understand what I was doing) - brilliant !!!
