Cokin filters

We talked alot of Cokin filters on this forum before.
Yes, it's good at some level but no, especially when you're on the move, unless you play with new type of Cokin threaded filter.

used Coken filters a lot when using film......... I still use a few coken filters to give a better look than you can get using Photoshop........

I have had cokin filters for years.

I got the P series at the time because they were bigger than the standard ones. That meant that I only had to have one filter size for my 35mm and medium format cameras. all I needed was an adaptor for each thread size I wanted to use.
I have a bunch of them but the ones which I used most of all were diffusers and star filters.
I resurrected them when I got the dslr and did a few shots with them, but with the exception of the star filter I can reproduce the effects easily with photoshop.

I just bought a Cokin set up: P serie and one gradual ND2 (light) . I wait and see to add the ones I would like, maybe more gradual ND... At least they are pretty cheap.

with their graduated ND you can slide it up and down as appropriate.

That's what I like in the system and it's easy to combine several filters... I 'll have a go as soon as possible.

Personally I hate them they are expensive, awkward, slow and nothing you cannot do in photoshop. Spend your money on a good PL filter.

I got one as well, I just thought I'd experiment with the Cokin system especially at sunset and sunrise...
