FX Hanging Systems

Postby Geoff on Tue Apr 11, 2006 8:41 am

Well,
I finally have installed two sections of the FX Hanging System in our new place and so far I am VERY pleased with the result. The next section of wall I am going to take some images of the 'how to' process for those that may be interested. The pro's are:

It looks neat and tidy when finished
It prevents putting holes in the wall for picture hooks
You can easily move/add as many images as you like along a wall
You can easily change the height of the framed picture.

The Cons are:
Time consuming to install - if you're going to do it properly, quite a bit of preparation time etc.
Not THAT cheap, although if you use this guy (Simon), ask him for a ''cash'' price and he will do you a MUCH better deal.

I will post some pics in the next few days of a wall with some framed images on it already. For those that are interested, the website is this:

I chose and installed the 'Locator' system.

I for one will be watching with much interest Geoff. Very keen to hear more about the preparation and installation process.

And the 'cash' deal, would I be in the same positon to negotiate given I'm not local?

Also can't wait to see some pics with some of your great images up on the wall.

Cheers,
Craig

Thanks Craig - the cash deal could only be confirmed by speaking with Simon. It may be a problem as you're not local and any transfer of $$ will be seen by the tax man.

Give him a call to find out what can be arranged.

Won't be doing the next install for a few weeks, but will take photos of the process, mainly measuring the points at which you put the studs in the wall that hold the rail system. Drilling through brick was the hardest bit I think :)
