Aperture V1.1 now released

Postby radar on Fri Apr 14, 2006 2:15 pm

Hi,

read that Aperture 1.1 is now available. It is now a Universal application, so it will run natively on PowerPC and Intel Mac OSX.

Another good thing, the price has been reduced from $699 to $449 and they are offering a rebate for V1.0 buyers, so they don't feel cheated by this new price. If you had purchased V1.0, you get a $250 e-coupon to spend in the Apple Store.

It is a free upgrade for V1.0 users.

Been looking at iMac's lately, so I thought this may be of interest to some.

cheers,

André

Hmmm... v1.0 to v1.1 upgrade demands a $200 (sort of - Apple still gets the other $250) price tag? If I were an Apple user I would definitely be feeling cheated. That, to me at least, going on the version number, is only an incremental update. To my way of thinking v1.1 should be a freebie to existing v1.0 users.

Cheers

From the Apple website:

Developed in consultation with pro photographers, Aperture 1.1 — available now for $449 RRP and as a free Software Update for current owners of Aperture 1.0

Maybe I had been unclear, sorry. For V1.0 users that purchased it for $699, they get the e-coupon for $250 to spend in the Apple store, and they get the free update to V1.1,

I had said that it was a free upgrade for V1.0 users :-)

Sorry for the confusion
