Sunset over Swan River. (pls vote)ok id like to keep 3 of these max, so let me know which 2 you'd delete.
Was sitting in my study and noticed the sky lit up, so raced down to the waters edge and snapped a few of these off ; #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 A few others from today, the nice day it was ... http://darb.net/assorted-personal/ Last edited by darb on Sat Jan 08, 2005 11:45 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Gee, it's a bit like picking who should come first and who should come fifth in Miss Universe They're all good sorts
But my preference in order is 1,3,2,5,4. Somehow I prefer them without the boat.
The three I'd keep are 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5!
Great shots, no idea why you'd want to dump two of them. Love the first one with that wave (?) in the foreground. I'd probably pick 3 and 4 as my next two preferences, but ask me at a different time and I'd probably answer differently. Magic shots. Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
I'd probably keep all 5, but if I really have to pick 2 then I would have to go for 3 & 4...
in 3, the reeds/sand may distract from the main subject of the photo (i.e. the sunset) and the colour seems to be better in 2 4 may be a little out of focus in the foreground... Cheers, John

G'day,
Wow, these look fantastic... Love the color and sense of ambience! I'd be hard pressed to delete any of them (at least if I'd managed to take anything like these!) but my preference is 1,2 and 5. I like having the fishing(?) boat in the last shot to give a sense of someone there, almost lonely (is there anyone in the boat?) and the wave in the first shot is really interesting and grabbed my attention... Wonder what #3 would look like without the reeds, just the sand? You've really captured the sky at the best moment in these, was there much PP to bring out the color that much? Really nice, thanks for sharing... Cheers, Mudder Aka Andrew
Difficult, but...Hi Darb
Firstly, great sunset pix! If I had to choose, I'd lose #2 and #4. To me, #2 just lacks a point of reference, and in #4, I feel there is slightly too much water foreground, and it may be just a bit noisier/blurrier than the others. I love #1, I think it is outstanding. Well done. Trevor
Hi All,
Everyone loves #1 for the intriguing foreground so for that reason im not going to dampen it by telling you what it was. Im thinking i'll keep #1 and #4 or #5 ... Trevor : it was a good sunset wasnt it ... post yours up mate! ... my boss rang me and left a messagebank saying "wherever you are, go outside and look west". The exif data is available if you go to http://darb.net/assorted-personal/ click the image, and below it it wil display the EXIF data. Those colours are as it was ... the only post processing is my usual "D70 defog" unsharp mask, and some very subtle level changes, but thats it.
