Should we have a cover charge for the mini meets etc

Postby Jenno on Wed Jan 12, 2005 9:23 pm

As one of the many who benefited from the last mini meet at Birdies, I am floating the possibility of imposing a cover charge to cover the hosts costs including food and materials for demos etc.

I dont know what the official arrangements on account of me being a newbie, but I did observe that one person in particular seemed to carry much of the cost of that function even though others did bring cakes etc for morning T.

Since more are planned, now would be a good time to remedy this situation if you feel its needs to be.

I for one would not feel agrieved to contribute $5 per meet

What do others think? BTW Did you catch the sunset today. Beautiful colours courtesy of the bushfires and haze

I'd be certainly willing to chip in $5 or $10 to cover costs for any meets, as the service you (allegedly :p ) get is worth a hell of a lot more. But as it is, you can contribute, like others have done, by bringing a bit of food or drink, and by sharing around your knowledge (and maybe letting others play with your gear)
