What happened to this site?

Postby DaveB on Sun Jul 16, 2006 11:36 am

First of all the site locked up last night and wouldn't respond. Then at various times there have been 404 Not Found (on the index page, along with a 404 on the ErrorDocument) and Connection Refused.

Now it's back and running again (fingers crossed). What happened?

Yep - it enabled me to:

Cook a classic 14 course French meal
Watch 3 movies
Read a book - cover to cover
but best of all bought a 50mm f/1.4 Ais lens for $123.50

I actually spent a Saturday night with the family and watched a movie, got a coffee from Gloria Jeans...I just hope that they don't expect that every Saturday night.

Wow, someone's had a busy night...

I've been watching the drama on dreamhoststatus.com, looks like those guys need to invest in redundant infrastructure. I thought they were one of the top hosting companies out there...

Cheers
Steffen.

Thank god, I thought it was just internet explorer 7 beta.

Certainly not many posts this morning. :(

Might have to talk to the wife now.

I spent the day shooting eggs, and for the first time ever, I managed to fill a 1Gb card in one sitting. In the end I still only had 5 shots to choose from.

As already noted, it was a severe hardware failure.

Not much we can do about that from here, I'm afraid
