Do Benro have their manuals (either tripods and ballheads) in electronic pdf version??
If you may like, I can take a look and translate it into an english version for you all.
VK4CP, I just checked my KB-2 A328 combination.
I screwed the linking screw into the legs with the locking nut about half way along the thicker part of the screw. Then tightened the nut. Then screwed the ballhead on. No worries - had mine for 8 or 9 months. cheers Greg - - - - D200 etc

That first shot looks like it would be very unstable!!
Isn't the head supposed to sit flush against something flat? On my Manfrotto it sits on a small triangular piece that covers about half the bottom of the tripod head... I find this to be less than ideal... All that's supporting your head there is the tiny surface area of that bolt!! Paul http://www.australiandigitalphotography.com

Paul, the nut is recessed into the centre of the rubber thingy in the last shot, so the head sits flush on the aforementioned rubber thingy.
It is a very secure fit. Greg - - - - D200 etc
