Solid Ink Printers

Postby blinkblink on Thu Sep 28, 2006 10:10 pm

Has anyone had any experience with solid ink printers. Xerox

I was at a clients place earlier this week and they just got a Xerox Solid Ink printer. They looked kind of nifty. The ink is just solid blocks that get melted on demand. It's certainly much cheaper to run than the Colour Lazer we've got a work.

We used to have one at work a few years back.

If I remember correctly it wasn't the best for printing photos. Good for graphics with lots of solid colour though.

Im thinking that this can provide a good saturated colour print, but will not be producing enough variety of colours (gammut range) as required for photographs :?:
