Film is still aliveand Ian Cameron is a master - stumbled across this in the pbase popular galleries..
http://www.pbase.com/hwatt/scotland&page=all Definitely worth clicking through every pic, IMHO in particular, Clearing Storm Glencoe Milk and Honey Emerald In Pink Blue Gold Splendour. Beach Ripples ah heck just have a look... D3 | 18-200VR | 50:1.4 | 28:2.8 | 35-70 2.8 | 12-24 f4

Truly stunning photos! The best landscape shots I have seen for ages... I'm also impressed because this guy has a consistent body of work. He must have had a lot of patience to be in the right spot at the right moment. No amount of money or camera equipment can replace this... thanks for sharing! Link.
There is always some difference in film and digital... its all skills that needed to take those pics
I just want to continue on using film still, but they're just way too expensive, 2 rolls of 36exp Velvia = 2GB of CF... hard to make a choice here..
That's either a really cheap CF card or you're paying a lot for E6 development! A 20-pack of 36exp Velvia 50 will cost you about AU$190 delivered. But then I'm not about to go back to film myself...
Although he still uses film, the photographer made clear on his website that he also plays with the saturation level in photoshop in order to make the scene's colours as he actually saw them.
No need to rush for films; it's really all about patience to get the shot (plus some PP to increase digital range and saturation) Link.
Amazing stuff.
