Compatibility with Teleconverter

Postby ishman on Mon Jan 24, 2005 2:01 pm

Just wondering whether there are any issues with teleconverter, details below, and would it be compatible with the kit lens?

Brand: Vivitar
2X Autofocus Teleconverter MultiCoated 4-Element Ni/AFd

(for further details check the link below

Cheers!

Can't access the link.
What benefits do you want to get from the 2x teleconverter on the kit lens?
Once you have the TC on the kit len the f stop will be f.7 if the 18-70 can be hooked to the TC, but I doubt it won't fit.

that i believe is what the link is supposed to goto .. i took the ) off the end of the original link and then searched vivtar's site as that sent me elsewhere.

The 2x would work, take your 2x1000watt spot lights down to the local park at midday and you should be ok.

You'd be better off buying a Nikon 70-300G than a Vivitar teleconvertor for the kit lens. In my humble opinion.

There would be no guarantee of DX compatibility and the Vivitar website makes no mention of this.
