Epson P3000 with 120gb updated with tutorial

After an hour or so, i finally was able to upgrade the harddrive of the Epson P3000

Who needs to buy a P5000 when you can get a P3000 with 120gb



Once the battery has been charged, i'll do a few tests and post a mini review, i'm not expecting it to be as fast as the pd70x, but screen on this thing is crazy

I got my P3000 for $667, $100 for a 120gb hdd, an hour or so of your time and you have a 120gb P3000

I also purhcased 3 batteries (call me paranoid about power) and an external charger from ebay for 60 bux, grand total is $827 for storage device that can transfer roughly 120gb worth of data (40gb per charge) and an extra battery for viewing purposes

Yes ... the P3000 is a fair bit faster than the P2000. Still slower than a lot of other PSD's though - Nexto etc.

I think 120GB is still about the largest commonly available drive you can pick up.

The Nexto drives can easily do 1GB a minute, provided of course you're using a fast enough CF card.

It doesn't have any fancy screens or anything though. It's purely just a backup/storage device.

Yeah it works for the P2000, but the P2000 is ALOT harder to take apart.

Apparently this device doesn't support 48bit LBA, therefore the largerst this device will ever see is 137gb, so its its a bit of a waste buying the 160gb.
