Are we getting lazy?

Postby Matt. K on Fri Feb 11, 2005 10:19 pm

Just been cruising around the forum site and noticed the "unanswered posts" button. Over 170 posts that nobody could be bothered to respond to! This is a bad trend and I urge everybody to scan these posts and respond to at least 3 of them. If we don't then in 6 months time there will be a thousand! Shades of DPreview!

Get answering! It only takes a moment.
Regards

Totally agree - I try and answer all posts that I feel confidently able to answer

I will have a look over the next hour or so, I see what I can do to assist. May be can get the figure before 150 before the night is out, and below 100 by tomorrow night.

Goodbye for now,

Actually went in and had a look Matt but found that there are quite a few that don’t need to have a reply

I have just gone through the list, and would have to agree with Chris, that quite a few do not need answering.

May be Gary Stark could make a post, for each contributor in the unanwered area to review their post (s) ie make further comment, delete etc. to tidy the area up.

TTFN (ta ta for now),

Interestingly I posted a thread tangentially related to this a while back when I browsed through the unanswered posts list. Looking at that thread I commented there were 161 unanswered posts on 25 Jan. Just checked now and there are 175 - so in 4 weeks the count has gone up by 16. That's probably not too bad, but we can always do better

So - I've also made a start and answered an unanswered post of Matt K (temple pics)

I'm on it. But when looking at the responces of those more qualified I feel I have little to add

I tried to do my bit late last night (or perhaps early this morning) - think there were two or three I felt I could contribute to. I found it quite interesting that this list is a great way to find a lot of great hints and other bits of useful info that don't seem to come together as well by any other search method - so in some ways, I hope we don't respond to the posts that don't require response just so they can get cleaned out of the unanswered list - at least not till I've had a chance to work through them all  .
