Nikon Capture

Postby Allan on Fri Oct 08, 2004 5:07 pm

Hi all....newbie with a question. Where in Sydney did you get the Capture 4.1 CD?....and the cost?.
I'm being told I have to order it, it's only version 3.... it'll take 4 or 5 days and costs $285!!! Another store has V4...cost $350!!!

Presently I'm trying the downloaded trial version updated, and it seems Ok...just. Or do you recommend Photoshop?

I know I can update 3 to 4.1.3 but it seems a pain....firstly as I wasn't told I'd need any post processing tools and secondly...another coupla hundred!!

But on the + side, cameras great...lotsa fun.

Allan,

Welcome.

The best idea will be to order it from the US. Far cheaper than the horrific prices that we're being ripped off for it here. Download the 4.1 version from Nikon-Asia, and apply the upgrades to that.

While I understand why you posted this message in the Sydney section, the issue is more global than just Sydney, so I'm going to move this post into the general section. I hope you don't mind.

Allan, welcome.

You should have v4.1 on the disk which came with the camera.

The upgrade to 4.1.3 needs to be downloaded.

Others will probably advise you on the questions raised, but all digital photos benefit from post processing.

cheers

Just looking at Nikon Capture Editor and it comes up with entering a serial number but all the ones that I've come across so far are alphanumeric and this one is purely numeric in the format:
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.
