Bout time I got something like this, and just need your opinion please. Does it matter what OS you have?

Cheers..

You mean apart from the ones listed in:

System Requirements

CRT and LCD Monitors
Windows® 2000, XP, and Vista
Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
USB port

Once again I failed to read everything..

I'll assume '10.3 or higher' includes Leopard.

I once looked at the huey...
I read mixed reviews on it.

Most of them said its better than no calibration, but the general consensus was it wasn't adequate for professional photography - deriving an income - where image quality is paramount.

I ended up getting my Eizo calibrated with a borrowed eye-one.

Look into going in with some other photog's for a better one or ask around here to borrow one.

hope that helps.

Although I have the Spyder I was actually looking at this one on ebay last night 8)

Go for it - it’s a good unit and I believe it takes ambient light into consideration as well.

I have a Spyder also. i found that my main BenQ monitor was very close . But the Laptop LCD was out a fair way.

And then I guess whether you really want or need super accurate colours?

i was hoping to buy a r1800 and profile some papers but that dream is on hold at the moment.

Price seems alright. But with the Aussie $$ going OK what can you get from the States?

GoodLuck

Thanks lads. I found a good review site with all the main players:

http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/revi ... _profiling

I think the mags will also be happier once I calibrate my screen..

Feels like Christmas already with all these new toys I'm buying myself. :)

Next thing to fix:

Figure out why all my images on my site disappeared!!

I have the base version (same hardware but original software)
and I'm trying to find somewhere where I can purchase the upgraded software but the only links I can find supply to the US and Canada only :)
I like the product but I think the new software would make it even better
