What signs are there that you have a problem?

I'll start: When you watch TV news and current affair progs you always check out what gear the Pj's are using... :)

When the lenses you own are worth more than your car.

Then your car is getting old and crappy, so you buy another car... and your lenses are still worth more than your car.

When you throw around BIG money for lenses without batting an eyelid. Just like forking out $30.00 for that CD you must have, except with this addiction it's anywhere between $500.00 to $2000.00  And then as soon as that shiny new lens arrives, you need another Nikon 'fix' :!:

There is NO cure

When the only way I can get to sleep is by counting the lenses jumping a fence - bring back the days of naked ladies leaping the fence

Sirc55

How about naked ladies wearing a D70 forum T shirt, Pro-loop strap, and a D70 with a nice lens, jumping Manfrotto tripods? :D

H'mmm - from a health and safety perspective, might be safer to omit the tripod and have them jumping Lowepro bags instead!!!

In order to ensure balance and equity, the female members of this forum might like to dream about naked gentlemen wearing a D70 forum T shirt, Pro-loop strap, and a D70 with a nice lens, jumping Lowepro bags as well.

You have a problem when you do not see any nakedness, D70 T shirts, jumping or pro loop straps. You only see lenses instead. If this happens you have a problem - big time!

Cheers

Graham

complete denial ...

Postby christiand on Fri Feb 18, 2005 9:50 pm

I was in complete denial for a few months.
I said to myself, I'll never go VR, I'll never spend that amount of money.
My defenses collapsed, I caved in and got the 70-200mm VR AND TC-17EII !!!
It is of course all Birddog's fault !
He lured me into going past his place and doing a little favour for Canberra, when he sprung the 70-200mm VR on me !
He let me have a sniff and that was it.
He planted the seed and did it go off !
The sneaky guy also had me lusting for a TC-17EII.
Gee, isn't it good to have someone else but me to blame ?

Thank you Birddog.

Cheers

I'm gonna sue Birddog for causing me depression :/

It's amazing how even though I'm miles away from even contemplating a nice juicy VR I still go and look at the prices every now and then - just hoping that one day, I might just be lucky and see the price drop to less then $500!

I’m with you on this one Sheepie - everytime I think I am getting close to a purchase the money disappears. I check the US$ everyday with paranoia that it will drop down to 10¢ on the dollar
