Lens Serial NumbersHi All,
Where do you find the serial numbers for NIkon Lenses? The 70-200 has it on the plate but I can't find them on the 50mm or 85mm??? Andrew
Nikon D3 and lot's of Nikon stuff!!
Re: Lens Serial NumbersThey are there. Usually stamped directly onto the black body close to the mounting ring. They are often very difficult to see, so you'll need to hold the lens up to the light at the right angle.
Cheers John D3, D300, 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 85/1.4, 80-400VR, 18-200VR, 105/2.8 VR macro, Sigma 150/2.8 macro

Re: Lens Serial Numbersi wander why they make life so hard? is there way to check where the lens is manufactured from the serial number?
Re: Lens Serial Numbersusually stamped above or below the serial, but most lenses (nikon) are made in china, with only the pro lenses being made in japan
