Connecting Skyport to flash units

Postby warrenism on Wed Jun 11, 2008 5:20 pm

Howdy.
So the arrival of my Skyports is imminent, allowing me to play around with off camera flash. Problem is that my flash unit is a 430EX, meaning that the only way to connect flash and receiver is via hot-shoe adapter - 3.5mm adapter.
Flashzebra is completely out of stock with not indication as to when he will be able start producing them. So i figure, that making my own won't be that difficult. The only problem is that i have no idea where to source the female hot shoe mounts locally. DSE / Tandy all yield nothing! Do i have to look overseas?

Any suggestions?

have you tried other camera stores or maybe a local pawn shop with various bits and pieces. i'd look at other camera stores first before just making one.
Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone

Ted's on Pitt St.

And they will probably have staff that are qualified to sell an item of this complexity.

Piro / Gary - Im not holding high hopes that Teds/ Paxtons / Georges any retail stockist will have such items.
I went into Georges / Paxtons the other day and the staff i dealt with didn't know what a PC Sync connection was.
