That'd be right.....

Postby scott s on Wed Oct 08, 2008 5:19 pm

Bloody typical ! I spend the last month looking at getting into some panorama gear, tossing and turning over the RRS prices, only to find the A$ takes a dive during this time. What was about A$620 when i started looking is now about $780.
That nodal ninja 5 is lookin real good now.
will the dollar rise after this current excitement settles, and/or will the nodal stuff prices jump on the back of the dollars fall.... ?

If you can accurately predict that, you'd have a job in the financial sector.

Rest assured, the dollar will either go up, down or sideways in the short to long term. :D

And I do have a job in the finance sector. 8)

i think buying on ebay and selling overseas will make you instant cash as the online sellers do not change their pricing so soon but it is probably too late now.

Hmmm and looks like it’s going to go lower (from http://www.ozforex.com.au/cgi-bin/dailycommentary.asp):
:: Australian Dollar: The Aussie dollars catastrophic decline intensified over the last 24 hours as pure panic and fear set in during Asian and European trade yesterday. Despite what appeared to be some decent support at 70 cents during local trade yesterday Asian investors dumped the Aussie dollar as equities in the region were sold off aggressively. On the back of the previous days shock 1% rate reduction and the Japanese stock market dropping almost 10% along with the ASX also losing over 5% the Australian dollar fell below 70 cents with the selloff intensifying from thereon. The Aussie dollar officially returned to battler status in overnight trade plummeting to exchange near 0.6450 prior to the announcement of central bank rate cuts which triggered a bounce back to 0.6850. In late NY trade with U.S shares dropping yet again the AUD weakened to open this morning back at 0.6650. Today sees Australia’s employment report with an increase in unemployment likely to send it lower again.

One interesting result of the decreasing Australian dollar is that the upgrade price for Lightroom through Adobe Australia (AU$149) is now in line with the Adobe US price (US$99).

now scott would this thread be in relation to this thread.......... viewtopic.php?f=5&t=34293

you do not have to start a new thread with every new question........... but I will also answer this one

the Australian agent is........ OUT OF STOCK http://nodalninja.com.au/products/.......of the NN 5 and the NN 5L so at a guess there will be a price rise due to the aussie dollar

actually its only the NN5 out of stock. they have plenty of NN5L, which is what I ordered this morning.

If it helps, it appears Europe & UK are up about 3% tonight. But, I don't recommend looking at the market daily - there is little benefit in doing so. :D

Another dead cat bounce?

The only thing that peeves me is the drop in my employee share plan allotment of shares ($999 worth) that have fallen to $700 or so in about a week :? But its only beer money anyway so Í don't really care. :D Super is so far away for me that it will recover no worries.....
