Lens question

Postby ozimax on Tue Mar 01, 2005 3:37 pm

Being a technical dummy, I have a (most probably) stupid question. Does the NIKON AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G lens fit D70 body? If so, is it a good lens? Anyone have experience with it? :?:

(Having sold all my Canon T70 SLR and stuff many years ago, I have no experience at all with Nikon)

Hey Ozimax,
It's a Nikon mount and it'll fit with all Nikon body, but it has no apeture ring so it'll only works with the modern Nikon bodies or Nikon DSLR.

Max, I don't have any experience with this lens, but it will definitely fit your D70 and retain the AF function. In fact almost any Nikon/Nikkor Lens will fit and work with the D70, but you may lose some functionality depending upon the lens.

cheers

Hey Max, I never tried that lens either but It should be a very decent piece. Might need more light at times but it's still all good.

I have one, it is a very cheap lens... It will perform but only under good conditions... A fair amount of CA, mostly when shooting backlit subjects.

You can shoot wide open at full tele... quite soft... you need to stop down a bit...
