I brought 2 8gb SD cards from them. Cheapest place i could find.
100% happy with every aspect of the sale. Can't fault them at all.

Not a stupid question at all.

The Bamboo is their newest model, just released last Thursday. Leigh and I each have one.

There are a few different models in the Bamboo, one that uses just the pen, one that uses touch and one that does both. The touch incorporates multi-touch, which means that you can give yourself iPhone like capabilities on your pc or mac.

We're still in the early eval stage, and I'm even further back, trying to figure out how the damn thing works.

But it does have some cool features too, and sees to be quite a capable device.

Chris, Bamboo is the fun version and Intuos is the Pro version. You will notice that reflected in the price. Intuos has more pressure sensitivity levels and angle sensitivity (which I understand can be awesome for sketching with pencil effect...)

I have an older Bamboo 8X6 (or a widescreen equivalent) which works well with my 20" widescreen.

One major consideration is the size. It must match the aspect ratio of your monitor. Otherwise the sensitivity will be different on X or Y axis.

The bigger the tablet, the larger your hand movements need to be. Remember these have absolute positioning not relative like the mouse.

I would STRONGLY suggest trying one at the shop (for half an hour or so on PS) before you go off and buy on the net. Better yet, get them to price match...

thanks surenj. why do you suggest trying one ? is that cos i may not like the feel of it ? i have a 16:10 ??(i thought it was 16:9 but the spec says 16:10), 22inch monitor so will the tablets work ok with this ?

Well I took some time to get used to the absolute positioning on my tablet. If you have never used one before, you may not end up liking it. In that case, an Intuos will be a heavy price to pay for cupboard space. Some people are not compatible with tablets.

I am not entirely sure about the 16:10 vs 16:9 issue. There is only two types of tablet as far as I am aware. normal and wide.

That's certainly an issue I'm have trouble coming to grips with.

I have the Intuos4 M, and in terms of desk real estate, I would have trouble with anything bigger. I still use a mouse when I am not doing photographic work, but I have converted to left hand mouse use. So from left to right on my desk I have mouse pad, keyboard, Intuos tablet. I just wouldn't be able to use the L size with this configuration.

I found the Intuos easy to set up and use, but as already stated, it does take some time to get used to the absolute positioning of the cursor when using a tablet. But when it comes to photo editing, it is actually superb. The tablet mimics the format of your screen and the pen is much more precise than a mouse. Things like selecting and using a brush are much easier.
