Lightroom plug-in to control JPEG sizes

Postby surenj on Wed Jul 28, 2010 7:03 pm

Jeffrey has done it again. The new plug-in controls JPEG size/ quality ratio. It might be useful for people who need precise control. Check it out.

I use Jeff's plugins all the time. The Facebook, Smugmug and Geoencoding plugins are awesome!

There's not a plugin that does solely what that article says. I've read that story on his site and it's basically a test of the built in quality control settings in Lightroom, which is available in all the export plugins.

I can tell you from experience that a quality setting of 60 gives terrible quality. It introduces banding and artifacts into the photos. I use 80 for anything that's going to be displayed on screen and 100 for any photos which will be printed.
Adam.
