Nikon D4 Rumours...

Oh great, not only do I have to skip the D3 generation, I also need to replace all my CF cards with XQD cards....

Other apparent, almost true specs:

16.2MP, 11 fps, 102,400 native ISO and integrated ethernet....

2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Autofocus system: 9 cross-type sensors that are operational up to f/8

That screams BS to me...the current 51pt AF has 15 cross points.....

But I do like the sound of the specs! It will have BOTH CF and XQD slots which keeps me smiling!

Maybe they mean that 9 of the 15 (or whatever) cross-type sensors work with f/8 lenses (rather than f/5.6)? Is Nikon planning on making f/8 autofocus lenses? Or are we supposed to use teleconverters with slow zooms now? No idea.

That wouldnt be too bad. I'm worried that they have specified 9 cross type AF points...which would be a step back from the D3.

F/8 if for people who put a polarizer onto their 70-200 + TC-20

D4 rumoured to be 16.2 mp; D800 rumoured to be 36 mp

For cropping purposes? So that we amateurs don't have to buy $12000 lenses?

I guess they need to leave some room for a D4x ;)

Also, I believe that 36MP D800 when I see it…

Lloyd Chambers suggests the main benefit of 36MP will be in sizing back to 24MP or 16MP for a cleaner result.
