mini meets a must

Postby petermmc on Mon Mar 14, 2005 4:59 pm

Dear potential mini meeters

I attended a mini meet a few weeks back at Birddog's. I've been on the road and in the air since and just got around to posting this message.

If your local area mini meets are anything like this, I would fully recommend that you go along. Before I had time to say, "Is this the right place?" I had my ccd cleaned in about 3 seconds, I was introduced to some real characters and used a whole range of lenses that one can usually only dream about. Not only that, lunch was provided.

What a great experience! Thanks Birddog & fellow D70 travellers. It's good to put some faces to those pseudonyms...and what a fine looking bunch you are too...

Advice: If you want to learn from interested users with a great deal of experience, get along to a mini meet near you.

Regards

petermmc

I totally agree with you Peter.
I attended my first meet at Birddogs this weekend and it was really nice to sit there and listen to fellow enthusiasts talk baout photos and this and that. I was rather shy and didnt too far out of my safety zone but I had a good time.

I'm definately going to go back.

It was also nice being able to play with the beautiful lenses without a salesman urgin you to buy it. Oh wait, stubbsy was doing a very good job at convincing me to get the 70-200 VR :D

Another forum dweller from Wollongong.....welcome aboard Peter!

I've been trying to get to a meet at Birdy's for months, but never seem to have a Saturday free :? My target is a meet in April. Let's hope so. My big concern is this - how do I keep my rampant lens lust in check after a visit to Birdy's? :D  I've been especially good for 2 months and have resisted buying ANYTHING for my D70! I'm about to crack................

Just give in to your desires. You know you want too..... A whole new world of opportunity will open up to you......do it........take the plunge.........go for it.......punish the demons within..........satisfy your lust...

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. If your sensibilities about money is preventing you from addressing your lens lusting obsessions, then you're going straight to hell - (according to the church of Onyx, feel free to not be a follower ;))
