Just wanted to say hi :D

Hopefully this not an inappropriate post but,
just wanted to say hi and introduce myself after having lurked around for the past week or two.

My girlfriend and I just recently purchased a D70 with Nikor 18-70 and 70-300ED lenses as she just started studying B of photography at QCA.

Love the camera and already am getting hooked on photography.

This is a great forum and have already learned heaps.

Already planning a whole heap of D70 related purchases. Could anyone point me in the right direction.

Specifically what we are after:

SB800
Nikon hotshoe adapter
Sync cord
Remote
Nikon 50mm f 1.8 lens

Welcome Dom, hope you enjoy your stay. There is Birddog 114 who can help you with some of those items, stay around a while, get to know everyone and become eligible for members pricing. Looking forward to seeing some of your and your girlfriends images

make 4 more posts and you will be eligable to enter the next comp! (check out assignments section)

Prize: SB-800

However, dont make your purchases until you can check out the bargains section... 30 posts takes no time to make..

Make sure one of them is an image for critique too :)

Welcome and enjoy your stay!

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Will definitely be hanging around and doin some posting.

Will definitely be keeping a close eye on the bargain section but the problem is we need the SB800 to photograph a friends wedding on the 26th.

Does anyone know where I can order one now for a good price?

Hi Dom,

welcome to the crowd.
May I also suggest that you discuss the gear that you are planning to purchase with this crowd ?
What is the purpose of your planned purchases ?
What are you trying to achieve ?
However if you are absoloutly dead set with what you would like to purchase discuss it anyway.
You will find helpfull advice and perhaps controversial responses that will help your decisions.

Cheers

Welcome Dom (and girlfriend) - your first photos look pretty good and it is not easy for first posts to be night shots - so I admire what you have done.

Keep on posting :D

Hi Dom,
Next time, post your pics to the Image Reviews and Critiques section...

That's where most of us look for new photos... Some people only look at that section on a regular basis...
Cheers, John

Hello and welcome. Congradulate your gf for making the B of P course. I'm sure she'll encouter a fair few people with the other brand, it's up to her to represent Nikon and the D70 well by upstaging them when it comes to the output image. ;)

The cups do it for me too.
