Anyone remember this bad boy?




As a result of playing with that very functional body cap (Pentax DA 40mm f/2.8 DA) I decided I needed one, and the only appropriate body would have to be "the brick" (aka the K01). I managed to track one down locally and paid what I thought was a fair price (in the region of those DJ's Nikon V1 specials). So far I am really enjoying the IQ (K5 guts in a smaller body) and am finding it may have displaced the E-P3 as an everyday option.

Interesting camera and optics. 40mm is a sweet spot. Love the first image....tight composition really puts the emphasis on the eyes.

The first two pictures are suitable for adds, the third picture is my favourite of the set. The eyes could be a touch sharper (specially the left eye), but even as is, I like it.

My memories of the Pentax Ks isn't all that favourable.

When they moved from the screw mount to the K bayonet, they also moved into a mode of designing cameras that were no longer all that memorable. Some of their screw-mount bodies are, quite simply, classics. There is not one K mount body that comes even close.

That said, I do hope that you enjoy yours. The images you've presented here are wonderful. But they're the work and skill of the photographer, not the camera.
