Lens question re NZ next week

Postby ozimax on Wed Aug 24, 2016 11:14 am

Greetings one and all in soggy Sydney/Nth Coast NSW/Canberra or wherever your clime is.

I heading over to Noo Zooland late next week. This is my 24th visit to the Shaky Isles, and it is to be half work, half leisure. I'm hoping for the first time to visit the Queenstown region, via Tekapo and Pukaki. I will be taking my 7Dii/24-70 F4 combo, but I want to pick up something wider. I've narrowed my options (and budget) to the following lenses:

Canon 10-18 STM
Tokina 11-16 ii F2.8

Does anyone have experience with either of these two, or any other suggestions for Canon crop sensor?

Many thanks in advance.

Tokina 11-16 - great lens i have one and can't speak highly enough of it - I have even used it on a full frame camera and its still damn sharp..

Thanks Gerry. I have found a 2nd hand copy (as new) for $450. Might be worth a little investment.

I have decided on a Tokina 12-28 F4. Should arrive early next week. Will be interesting to see how it performs.
