Where did the site go???

Postby leek on Fri May 13, 2005 7:14 pm

Where did the site go??? I lost it for about 45 mins...
Strange thing was that I was getting an error that the site couldn't be found - as if it had disappeared from the DNS...
I could access other sites OK...
I also checked with Embi in Melbourne and he couldn't see it either...
I've had this happen to me at work as well... only for short periods luckily...
Cheers, John

Leigh called me while I was in the soopermarket (about 6) and told me it was down. I had him run a couple of checks (through US sites) that seemed to point to the primary DNS being down, which is sort of what you were seeing John, if I'm reading your message correctly.

By the time I got home - around 6:30 - it was up.

Just one of those internet glitches, I'm afraid.

For your extra useless information, the site was getting very laggy about 30 mins to an hour before it actually went down.

Shows how egocentric I must be. I figured I'd been temporarily banned for making too many posts in a self congratulatory thread  . So I went out to a friends place for dinner (and a VERY nice bottle of 1995 Kays Amery Bros Block 6 shiraz)

Does the empty bottle (with a touch of sediment) count?
