B&H Catalogue

Postby sirhc55 on Fri Jun 03, 2005 12:15 pm

I had a surprise yesterday when out-of-the-blue I received a printed catalogue from B&H in NY. It is packed with goodies and makes for a long read. It reminds me of the old days in the UK when photo catalogues would be something you hung onto like gold dust.

Just thought I would share this :D

I'd love a Fry's Electronics ad to just pop up in my mailbox just once...

At least then something in the mail would be for me...

Sure have - but never expected a catalogue from them 8) . Try getting catalogues from Aussie companies and the first thing they do is complain about the cost of them  8)

I'll happily change the address of my OfficeJerks account to your's. I generally get two a month, solely because Sycamore 1 bought a desk from them.

That was truly a fun transaction: in store the price was $100 more expensive for the same item, plus you needed to pay for delivery as they didn't keep any in store.

Online, it was, as noted above, $100 cheaper, and with free delivery to boot.

Go figure!

B&H actually publish 5 catalogs serving the various categories of electronics they sell. Each one the size of a small town's telephone book.

actually the 5 catalogues you have to pay for if you want a hardcopy of them, they are more of a reference guide... i bought the digial camera one sometime back... still unsure why... Yes it was really a brick!

you can download them in PDF format from their website.

mine arrived too! (assume this is the summer 2005 cattledog)

was confused to see the d2x appear twice on page 63. It appears as a 4 megapixel camera and a 12.4 megapixel camera. both with the same body #. although the 4 megapixel variety is $3499 USD and the other $4999.95... must be a stuffup!

There once was a $400 digital point and shoot for $9.95 in the used section... I emailed them to clarify this... didnt hear back...

I used to play the - pick a product on each page you would want... this progressed to highlighting everything i wanted in pink. It became shortly know as the pink pages.
