So how do I find a publisher?

Anyone have advice? I would like and try to sell my photos. Preferably for a postcard company or something. I have no idea how to go about.

This guy seems to do well, selling his photos on eBay. Is that a route to go with? Would you guys ever consider selling your photos on eBay?

Neeper,

Try your state government or equivalent, they may well have a small business unit which will provide advice you are seeking at no charge :) .

Cheers,

Be wary of scams.

There's lots of places that will say that they'll publish you.

And they will, for a fee. :)

Too often they're publishing custom books, with your images, basically for your own personal consumption, except they don't ell you that last bit. Similar scams exist for those who wish to become published writers.

One of the better ways is to look at magazines that cater to interests that include the photos that you are shooting. Approach those magazines and obtain from them details of their requirements and conditions, and go from there.

JT, have a look in that other thread about coffee table photo books - become a self published photographer! :)

Or acquire a postcard stand filled with your own work, and place it in the waiting area of an automotive shop near you.

Coffe table book is interesting indeed.

As for postcards, who the hell's gonna want to buy postcards of Venice and Paris in the middle of Canada? I don't think that will work. But the coffee book idea is fab!!
